In a recent client engagement, two departments needed to collaborate while using separate Jira instances—one in the cloud and one on Data Center. Due to security requirements mandating that certain team activities remain on-premise, we chose to implement application links instead of consolidating them into a single platform. In this article, I’ll highlight the benefits of using application links and provide a video tutorial on how to set them up effectively.

We're thrilled to announce a new Jira Service Management early access program (EAP) that will give HR teams the opportunity to test new features. We’re aiming to build a more powerful, intuitive experience that enables you to streamline HR processes, increase efficiency, and gain deeper insights into your workforce.
We want to get these features right, and we know it’s critical to get feedback from customers like you. So, we are looking for volunteers to join the EAP to test, validate, and help shape the future of Jira Service Management.
By joining the EAP, you’ll be among the first to get access to new features as we roll them out. In return, we ask that you let us know what worked well, what could be improved, and anything else necessary to make features useful for your team.

Announcement for Free JPD customers only
Currently, Jira Product Discovery allows all customers to select the project access level (private, open or limited access)
We're making the following changes to the project access level for free editions:
Default Access Level: For Free projects, the default access level will be set to "open," allowing everyone to access the project. Any user with project access can act as a creator. The project access level can't be chosen when a new project is created.
Free Plan Restrictions:
If you are on a Free plan, as of November 15th, 2024, everyone who can access the product will be a project admin. It will not be possible to change the permission scheme.
If you switch from a Standard or Premium plan to a Free plan, the project permissions will be locked in their current state. To change them, you will need to upgrade back to a Standard or Premium plan.

The EAP will be starting soon, and we are accepting signups for the waitlist here. We are looking for customers who are interested in trialing the new technology we have developed to power Assets and are willing to provide us feedback. You may be a good fit if:
You actively use Assets (including on a sandbox site). You have performance, reliability or scalability needs that exceed what Assets is currently providing and want to provide input as we make improvements in these areas. Are open to being involved in Beta/EAP programs and providing feedback. Initially, our EAP may not support every single feature of Assets. Due to this, we’ll be selecting customers who are users of the subset of features that will be initially available and including more customers as these features are added. The signup form has more information.

Ah the age old debate... and something that many of you might be surprised to see me, Britt Joiner, the Trello queen, even considering a conversation about.
At Team24, I spent a lot of time at the Trello booth, and almost every single person who stopped by said "Why Trello?" or "I use Jira. Why should I use Trello?"
I've spent some time having more conversations about this throughout the year and thought it was time to formally document my thoughts, so welcome to my Ted Talk 😁

What are SLAs, and Why Do You Need Them?
Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are essential to ensure timely service delivery, especially for support teams and project managers using Jira on their projects. They determine the expected response time and resolution of problems based on predefined rules. The SLA Time and Report add-on for Jira Cloud improves SLA tracking by providing advanced SLA monitoring and reporting tools. With these capabilities, teams can easily track SLA compliance, set custom goals, visualize progress, and automate responses and the entire process. 🚀
