Hi everyone 👋
I'm reaching out with yet another research opportunity! This time it'll be on the future of Teams and Groups. If you're an admin, we'd love to specifically get your perspective into aspects like visibility and administrative controls.
As Compass usage has grown, customers have asked us for better tools to ensure that their catalogs are accurate and can be relied upon as their single source of truth for teams across their companies.
To help with that, we’re rolling out a series of improvements aimed at better component lifecycle management. In addition to the recently launched pending state, we’re now introducing archived state along with bulk operations. 🎉
Release Management with Jira: Practical Insights
At JiraCon23, my co-founder Guillaume Vial presented a session on "Mastering Release & Deployment Tracking in Jira". In the present article, I’ll share key concepts from that session, plus additional insights. For a full, detailed version, the conference recording is available, but this piece will guide you through actionable steps that teams can apply to improve release management in Jira.
Guillaume’s vision is simple: make Jira users' lives easier by creating transparency and automation around releases. Imagine a world where testers know exactly where to start without chasing information, and developers focus on coding without updating Jira tickets manually.
We are excited to announce a new, 4 part Live Learning series “Jira for Marketers”. Led by Community Instructor and Atlassian Creator Alex Ortiz, these 60-minute courses are designed to help marketing professionals understand how they can use Jira to collaborate, align, and deliver work, all in one place. Each course will be hosted live, meaning you’ll have the chance to ask questions and get live feedback from Alex himself or from your peers!

By popular demand, we are happy to introduce several new strategies for syncing and merging branches in Bitbucket Cloud. Our goal is to provide you the full functionality of rebase and merge within the Bitbucket UI to help you manage your Git history according to your team's preferences.
We’re thrilled to announce the release of the Search feature within Atlassian Administration. With this feature, you can find the necessary settings and controls without the need to click through various menus. This eliminates the hassle of navigating through multiple pages to reach your intended destination.
We've added a way to export and import dashboards to enhance your dashboard management experience. With this new capability, you'll be able to easily transfer dashboards across different Analytics workspaces, making it faster than ever to manage and share your dashboards.
This feature is designed to simplify the process of moving dashboards between sites. Whether you're testing dashboards in one environment before deploying them to others, or managing multiple sites, this feature will save you time and effort. Previously, recreating charts, controls, and content across sites was a manual and time-consuming task. Now, you can export and import dashboards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
This feature is also a game-changer for our Atlassian partners. You can now create standard dashboards that serve as templates across multiple customers, streamlining your workflow and enhancing collaboration.
Customizing card covers in your Jira boards can enhance visual organization and help your team quickly identify issue types or priorities at a glance.
For more detailed information, you can also refer to the official Atlassian documentation on Customizing Cards in Jira.
We’re excited to announce the launch of SCIM-synced Atlassian Teams. We’re inviting you to join our Early Access Program (EAP) where you'll be among the first to use and provide feedback on it.
This new capability will allow you to connect your Atlassian Teams with SCIM-synced Groups, keeping Team membership fresh and up-to-date with an external source.
Work smarter, not harder
Jira’s real superpower lies in collaboration. By encouraging your team to respond to work and comment on issues faster and more often, smart replies can help your team embrace Jira’s unlimited power of accelerated collaboration.
After being positively received by a group of customers, this feature has just been rolled out to everyone. We will continue to polish it, and improve the experience.
What smart replies would help you respond to issues faster? Let us know in the comments below.
Following our announcement at Team ’24 combining Jira Software with Jira Work Management, we’ve been working relentlessly to make Jira the place of work for all teams. One of the many initiatives we’re pursuing to make this happen is refreshing how teams’ work is represented in Jira. That means replacing Issue with a new term that represents the work of all team types, including but not limited to marketing, sales, HR, operations, finance and legal teams, and not just software teams that Jira originally set out to do two decades back.
We're thrilled to announce a new feature now available in Atlassian Administration - IP allowlisting for Atlassian Analytics. This feature empowers admins to enhance the security of their Analytics data by restricting access to specified IP addresses.
A question that has been asked by multiple community members recently is:
"When I change the end data of a task, how can I have that change automatically update the start and end date of dependent tasks, while also maintaining the original duration of the dependent task?"
Jira Cloud does not do this inherently, but it can be done with limitations using Automation for Jira.
Jira Product Discovery (JPD) is one of my favourite Atlassian tools. It's fairly new in the Atlassian suite and we're seeing lots of creative ways people are using it - I've shared before about how I use it for aggregating roadmaps - and this time I want to tell you about how I use it for managing hub-and-spoke programs.
